Description

The 1746-A10 chassis hosts the electronic circuitry and interconnection slots that distribute backplane power to the installed modules. It accommodates up to ten (10) SLC 500 modules, excluding the Power Supply. The Power Supply attaches separately at the leftmost slot of the chassis, and only SLC 500 Power Supplies are compatible.

Expansion is supported through 1746-C9 and 1746-C7 cables, allowing up to three (3) interconnected chassis for a total of 30 SLC 500 modules. Each chassis requires its own dedicated Power Supply.

Installation Guidelines

• Provide 15.3 cm (6.0 in.) clearance at the top and bottom.

• Provide 10.2 cm (4.0 in.) side clearance.

• When installing adjacent to another chassis, maintain 7.7–10.2 cm (3.0–4.0 in.) clearance.

• Use M4 or M5 screws with star washers for mounting.

• Ensure proper grounding using a ground bar or a central grounding system.
