Overview

The 1746-NIO4V by Allen-Bradley is an SLC500 analog combination module designed for high-precision industrial applications. It provides two differential voltage or current inputs and two current outputs for flexible system integration.

The 1746-NIO4V has two non-isolated voltage outputs with a range of -10 to +10V. Voltage outputs use a 14-bit R-2R DAC with 2.5-millisecond step response time. Each output supports loads above 1 kΩ with up to 1 µF reactance, providing ±0.384% full-scale accuracy and minimal drift.

Inputs offer ±0.642% current accuracy and ±0.504% voltage accuracy with drift rates below 79 ppm/°C. Output gain error remains below ±0.374%, and offset error does not exceed ±11 LSB. The module achieves 16-bit input and 14-bit output resolution, with a 512-microsecond update time and 10 Hz bandwidth.

Physical & Mounting Details

The module mounts on a 1746 SLC500 chassis. Backplane current consumption is 0.55 mA at 5.1V and 115 mA at 24V. Field wiring isolation reaches 500V DC. Shielded Belden #8761 cable (14 AWG) is recommended for reliable signal transmission.
