Overview

The 1746-OX8 by Allen-Bradley is an SLC500 digital contact output module. It delivers eight individually isolated N.O. relay outputs for high-current control applications.

Operating Voltage & Output Ratings

This module supports operating voltages of 5–265V AC or 5–125V DC. Each output can handle up to 3A at 120V AC or 1.2A at 24V DC. The module’s relay contacts are rated for a maximum of 30A make and break at 120V AC and 15A make, 1.5A break at 240V AC. For DC applications, maximum make and break currents reach 0.22A at 125V DC and 1.2A at 24V DC.

Performance & Step Response

1746-OX8 provides a step response time of 60 milliseconds for input and 2.5 milliseconds for output. It ensures reliable switching with operating shock resistance up to 10 g. The module consumes 85–90 mA from the backplane during operation.

Physical & Mounting Details

This module mounts into a 1746 SLC500 chassis using an open-type enclosure. Ensure power is off before installing or removing the module to maintain safety. Status indicator LEDs clearly display output operation for monitoring purposes.
