Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1769-IF16C is a Compact I/O module designed for use with MicroLogix 1500 Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and CompactLogix Programmable Automation Controllers (PACs). It features sixteen (16) single-ended analog current input channels that support signal ranges of 0–20 mA or 4–20 mA.
This module is ideal for interfacing with industrial field devices such as transmitters, controllers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), modulating valves, panel meters, data loggers, and other current-output instruments. It can also accept conditioned output signals from isolators and splitters.
The 1769-IF16C uses a Sigma-Delta Analog-to-Digital (ADC) converter, translating incoming analog signals into digital data. It provides 16-bit resolution in unipolar configuration and 15-bit resolution in bipolar configuration. Full-scale input signal ranges of 0–21 mA and 3.2–21 mA are supported, ensuring flexibility for various industrial applications.
