Installation & Setup

Pre-Installation:

• Inform the network administrator and assign a correct IP address before connecting to the network.

• Tools Required: Phillips screwdriver.

Unboxing:

• Verify all components are included and inspect the unit for damage.

Mini-GBIC Installation:

• Use ESD protection.

• Insert the module into the SFP slot and secure it. To remove, unlock the latch first.

Mounting Options:

• Flat Surface: Use rubber feet, ensure proper airflow and access to power.

• Rack Installation: Use included brackets; consider stability and cooling.

Stacking:

• Use standard UTP cables in either daisy-chain or ring topology.

• Stack up to 8 units.

• Power on switches sequentially in a new stack; for adding to an existing stack, connect before powering on.

Power Connection:

• Plug into a standard AC outlet and observe CPU LED for status.

• Supports external redundant power (C2RPS-SYS only).

Console Access:

• Use an RS232 DTE cable via the DB9 port for local configuration.

• Set terminal settings according to the connected device.

Network Connection:

• Connect to fiber or UTP cables.

• Verify the connection LEDs; if offline, troubleshoot cabling and configurations.
