About the DS200LDCCH1AKA
The DS200LDCCH1AKA is a drive control and local area network (LAN) communications board developed by General Electric, designed for the Mark V Turbine Control System series. It is compatible with GE DIRECTO-MATIC 2000 exciters and drives.
This board integrates multiple microprocessors to provide LAN communications, drive resets, motor and drive processing, and operator interface functions.
Although widely used in steam, wind, and gas turbine automated drive assemblies, the Mark V Series is now considered an obsolete legacy product line, having been discontinued by GE. However, it remains notable as one of the last GE Mark series to use the patented Speedtronic control system technology.
The DS200LDCCH1AKA is an advanced revision of the original DS200LDCCH1 parent board, featuring three significant functional improvements not present in the parent model.
Hardware Features and Specifications
The board houses four microprocessors to manage I/O and drive control:
-
LAN Control Processor (LCP): Handles five different bus systems and converts bus signals.
-
Drive Control Processor (DCP): Manages peripheral I/O devices (e.g., timers, encoders) and analog/digital I/O conversions.
-
Motor Control Processor (MCP): Processes motor control circuits and digital I/O communications.
-
Co-Motor Processor (CMP): Provides additional computational power when MCP’s resources are insufficient.
Additional hardware features include:
-
An alphanumeric keypad for easy access to system diagnostics and configuration settings.
-
Multiple voltage limiting components such as capacitors, resistors, and integrated circuits, each clearly labeled.
-
A conformal coating on the PCB for environmental protection.
-
Several diagnostic test points and a RESET pushbutton for troubleshooting and fault recovery.
-
A less-common LED keypad display complemented by DN1 bar graph LEDs for communication and status indication.
Memory and Reset Functions
-
Six flash PROMs store configuration and operational data.
-
An EEPROM allows for field-adjustable parameters.
-
Reset mechanisms include:
-
A pushbutton RESET for critical fault conditions.
-
Soft resets via programming or using the Mark V Series Programmer Module’s reset key.
Additional Notes
-
A stab connection is provided to stiffen the LAN interface board in high-noise industrial environments, ensuring stable communications.
