Overview

The GE Fanuc IC697PWR720 is a single-slot Power Supply Adapter (PSA) module designed for use with the IC697 I/O system. This module facilitates the connection of an external power supply to an IC697 rack, making it ideal for systems that require flexible power integration.

Power Output Specifications

The PSA delivers power to the backplane with the following maximum current capacities:

• +5V DC Output: 18 Amps

• +12V DC Output: 2 Amps

• -12V DC Output: 1 Amp

These voltages and currents are supplied entirely by the external power source, with the PSA acting as the interface to the rack.

Monitoring & System Protection

• +5V Monitoring: The PSA continuously monitors the +5V output level

• Input Power OK (TTL Signal): Indicates whether the external input voltage is sufficient to ensure proper hold-up time for safe shutdown

• Backplane Signals Generated by PSA:

• ACFAIL* – Signals loss of AC power

• SYSRESET* – Triggers system reset during power transitions

To ensure an orderly system shutdown when power is removed, the external power supply must meet a minimum hold-up time of 5.05 milliseconds, in accordance with ANSI/IEEE STD1014-1987.

Installation Notes

• Plugs into the power supply slot (leftmost position) in the IC697 rack

• Requires external cable connection to power source
