Overview of the D20 Substation Controller

The D20 Substation Controller features an industry-leading design integrated with valuable substation automation applications. These applications offer cost savings, increased reliability, and improved operational efficiency within substations.

The D20 serves as a gateway to SCADA master stations, enabling communication with Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) within the substation or in downstream substations and feeders. Its extensive protocol library supports communication with most existing substation devices, enhancing system visibility and enabling effective remote control.

With a distributed, expandable I/O architecture and mission-critical automation control applications, the D20 controller has been widely adopted, with over 40,000 installations worldwide.

D20 I/O Options

The main chassis houses the central CPU(s) and communication ports, providing data concentration, protocol conversion, and customizable local automation functions. Available D20 main chassis options include:

• D20 Main Chassis: Available with single or dual CPU configurations

• D200 Main Chassis: Supports up to 7 CPUs

Additionally, I/O with DNP Communication is supported.
