The GE Fanuc IC697CPX772 is a single-slot Central Processing Unit (CPU) designed for real-time control of machines and industrial processes. It features 512 KB of built-in RAM to store user data such as programs, configurations, and registers. The module also includes 256 KB of non-volatile flash memory for firmware and operational data storage.

This compact module operates efficiently in enclosures with minimal airflow and supports an operating temperature up to 50°C. When powered by a 100 Watt DC/AC supply or 90 Watt DC supply, the module is subject to derating.

The front panel of the IC697CPX772 is equipped with seven green LEDs that provide real-time status indications including CPU status, toggle switch position, memory protection, serial port activity, and program state. Operation control is handled by a three-position RUN/STOP switch. User data is secured by software passwords and can be manually protected via a key switch.

For safe and proper operation, careful installation is required. On power-up, the top-left (OK) LED blinks, then stays ON after successful diagnostics. The second (RUN) and third (EN) LEDs remain OFF. The fourth LED (MEM PROTECT) is off when the key switch is in the OFF position. The CPU is then ready for programming.

No jumpers or DIP switches are needed for configuration.
